Quick & Easy Fundraisers

Partner with a Local Business
Many restaurants, yogurt/ice cream shops and other retail stores offer a program where they will donate a percentage of their sales to an approved charity.
– Price point: Restaurant donates percentage of purchased food / beverages to FUND IT FORWARD.
– Target audience: family/friends/co-workers/public
– Raffle: optional depending on the business partner
– Media and publicity: Social media such as Facebook, radio/tv, flyers at church/work/neighborhood


Partner with a Local In-Home Consultant
Schedule jewelry, food, clothing or candle party with a consultant that will work with fundraisers.
– Price point: varies depending on the sale of products
– Target audience: family/friends/co-workers
– Food: light appetizers/dessert and beverages
– Raffle: optional depending on the consultant
– Media and publicity: Social media such as Facebook, flyers at church/work/neighborhood


Birthday Party (Gift to FUND IT FORWARD)

– Price point: $5 - $25 (value of a birthday gift)
– Target audience: Parents of children invited to a healthy child's birthday party or friends and family
– Food: For a child's birthday - fun and kid-friendly birthday party food;
    For an adult birthday - fun party food, drinks, dessert
– Media and publicity: birthday party invitation with note that in lieu of gifts, donations to FUND IT FORWARD
    are requested. Donation receipts will be available at the party.

Change for Change Drive

Either as a continuous effort (keep collection jars available for a few weeks) or a single event such as a picnic
– How to: Ask people to donate their spare change to FUND IT FORWARD. Goal could be to fill a 10 gallon
water jug (approx. 100 participants needed to do this). Take the change to a bank that has a large volume
change counter. The bank will waive the user fee for non-profits. People only have to count their change
contribution if they want a donation receipt. Otherwise, no sorting or counting needed.
– Target audience: friends, family, neighbors, communities (church, local gym etc., schools)
– Food: depending on event, if any
– Media and publicity: flyers at church and community groups that the parents belong to


Retail Coupons
Many retail businesses will provide a fundraising gift card/coupon where the fundraiser sells them for a set dollar amount and a portion of the sales go back to the non-profit.
– Target audience: Teens and adults with disposable income for the service/product you are selling
– Price point: Varies, but typically around $8-12 per coupon with a return for the non-profit averaging
    $3-$6 per sale.
– Media and publicity: Among friends, Facebook, Twitter, if the business is willing to do an in-house coupon
    then you could advertise in the local paper, school district, community


Kid-friendly Events

Kid Birthday Party (Gift to Fund It Forward)
– Price point: $5 - $25 (value of a birthday gift)
– Target audience: Parents of children invited to a healthy child's birthday party
– Food: fun and kids-friendly birthday party food
– Media and publicity: birthday party invitation with note that in lieu of gifts, donations to FUND IT FORWARD
   are requested. Donation receipts will be available at the party.


Toddler Triathalon

– Price point: children collect sponsorships ($5 to $25)
– Target audience: children / families
– Food: refreshment stand with light snacks
– Raffle: toys
– Media and publicity: neighborhood, friends, flyers at church and community groups that the parents belong to


Ferret/Guinea Pig Racing

– Price point: $10 to register pets, $2 for pictures
– Target audience: families
– Raffle: 50/50 raffle and betting on rodents
– Food: fun and kids-friendly, e.g. burgers, dogs, picnic food
– Media and publicity: word of mouth, flyer in local establishments, email to neighbors, social media

 

Family-friendly Events

Minute to win it
– Price point: $20 per ticket or $50 per family
– Target audience: family friendly
– Raffle
– Food: fun and kids-friendly
– Media and publicity: word of mouth, flyer in local establishments, email to neighbors, social media


Bowl-a-thon

– Target Audience: elementary age kids through adults
– Price point: participants are sponsored by family / friends for a certain dollar amount or based on number
   of pins knocked down.
– Food: probably dictated by the bowling alley
– Raffle: Entertainment baskets - movie basket, sports baskets, theatre basket
– Media and publicity: Ask event location to promote within and also put up flyers around the event location,
   Facebook, Twitter, newspaper ads

Willing husbands, contractors, landscapers, electricians, plumbers etc. go up on the block to be auctioned for repair services.
– Target audience: Widows, single moms, families with traveling husbands
– Price Point: $25 - $50 for a ticket depending on if alcohol/food is served. Auction items starting at
   $50 or $100 depending on the service provided.
– Type of Food: hot & cold hors d'oeuvres, drinks, desserts
– Entertainment: DJ or band playing dinner type music
– Raffle: basket raffle around the theme: cleaning basket, home-repair basket, etc.
– Media and publicity: radio, public announcement in local papers, craigslist, Facebook, Twitter, etc.


Outdoor Run/Bike Race
Plan a 5 or 10K run or biking race with your local community
– Target audience: General Public, bike clubs, running clubs, local high school and college cross country
    or field & track teams
– Price Point: $30 for a ticket with a t-shirt provided.
– Type of Food: water, energy bars, energy drinks
– Entertainment: DJ or band for end of the race (Optional)
– Raffle: basket raffle around the theme
– Media and publicity: radio, public announcement in local papers, craigslist, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

 

Adult/Business Events

Gala or Formal Evening Event
– Price point: $50 - $100 per person or $ per table
– Target audience: business community
– Food: hors d'oeuvre, salad, deserts
– Entertainment: DJ, local artists
– Raffle: silent auction, high-quality gift baskets

Food and Wine Tasting / Restaurant Dinner Party
– Target audience: Adults 21 and over
– Price point: $100-$150 per couple
– Food: Ask local restaurants to participate, make it easy for them to participate by offering them the ability to
   provide menus, coupons, buying a gift certificate to raffle off later, etc.
– Entertainment: DJ or band providing mellow dinner music then possibly dancing afterwards
– Raffle: Entertainment baskets - concert tickets basket, picnic for two basket, baskets (gift cards, merchandise)
   from participating restaurants and vineyards
– Media and publicity: Through participating restaurants and vineyards/wine stores, newspapers, radio,
   Facebook, Twitter, Websites of restaurants and wine stores, etc.

– Target audience: Adult women
– Price point: $20 to get in and percentage of boutique clothing
– Food: hors d'oeuvre and wine
– Entertainment: Fashion show
– Raffle: Silent Auction including items sold at participating boutiques
